Opened in January 2023, The Rami Library stands out as the largest library complex in Europe, offering a collection of millions of volumes as well as special libraries and common areas catering to readers of all ages.
The Rami Library is set in the Ottoman-era Rami Barracks, dating from the mid-18th century. Restored and renovated through intensive efforts by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, the Rami Library also features newly constructed annexes.

The Rami Library, the center for knowledge and sustainable living, has opened its doors to visitors.
With its qualified collections, technological facilities and living spaces, the Rami Library offers a unique library experience to visitors of all ages and turns a new page in the history of librarianship.
A LIBRARY FOR USERS OF ALL AGES
The Meeting Point for Readers of All Ages
The Rami Library provides facilities for a wide range of readers, starting with infants and toddlers. Dedicated libraries within the Complex offer cultural and artistic activities directed to users of various ages.
Anticipated to be a prominent meeting place for visitors of all ages, the Rami Library features a Baby and Children’s Library, a Youth Library and an Adult Library, as well as Special Libraries, an Atatürk Library and a Manuscript Library .
Distributed across eight main corridors, the libraries and reading halls represent the generations enlightened by knowledge at every moment in life, from birth to death.
Living Library
The Rami Library is an expansive complex offering individual and group reading halls and workshop and event spaces, along with talks, seminars, exhibitions and other presentations. Catering to a wide range of users – from children and teens to university students and academics – the Library serves readers and researchers around the clock with 24-hour reading rooms.

The Rami Library features 51,000 square meters of green space – currently the largest enclosed green space of any library in Europe. The Complex is a meeting place that brings breathing space to İstanbul, in both its capacious reading halls and in its expansive green area in the heart of the city. Offering cafés and reading halls, an artificial pond, walking and biking paths, and a national archives, the Rami Library is an active spatial use area that moves beyond the classic understanding of a library.
