Rami Library, Turkey’s first sustainable library, is hosting an international cultural festival. Organized under the slogan “A Reading Child, A Changing World!”, the 2nd International Istanbul Children’s Book Fair will welcome visitors between September 26 – October 5, 2025.

 

Held in collaboration with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), the fair is preparing for the second edition of Turkey’s first thematic international organization. The main sponsor of the event is Albaraka Türk, while Anadolu Agency serves as the global communication sponsor.

 

 

 

 

10-Day Celebration of Culture and Books

A total of 55 publishing houses specializing in children’s literature will take part in the fair. Set against the historical atmosphere of Rami Library, the event will feature book signings, talks, workshops, and special exhibitions, bringing children, families, and teachers together with authors.

 

Theme: “Family”

This year’s theme is “Family”, presented with the motto “Family Tree, Crown of My Head”. Various events will highlight the importance of family for children and their loved ones.

 

Meetings with Authors and the Vefa Award

Prominent local and international authors and illustrators of children’s literature will meet readers throughout the fair. In addition, the late author Hasan Nail Canat, who passed away in 2004, will be commemorated with a special “Vefa Award”, presented to his family.

 

“Free Sky” Exhibition

As part of the events, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the exhibition “Free Sky”, showcasing works by Gazan illustrator Baraa Awoor.

 

Visiting and Participation Information

The fair will open its doors on Friday, September 26, at 9:30 a.m., and will be open daily until October 5, between 9:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.. While pre-registration is not required for general admission, prior registration is mandatory for parallel workshops, talks, and special events.
